His fascination with gold prospecting was ignited after watching a television show about gold mining, which led him to join a prospecting club and eventually become a successful miner. His work as a prospector has taken him across the Western United States and internationally, with notable mining ventures in California and even as far as Cambodia and Thailand.

Sean and his mining team, known as "Mine Operator," specialize in various forms of mining, including placer and hard rock mining. They utilize a range of equipment, from metal detectors to sluice boxes, to uncover hidden gold deposits. Sean’s skills and passion for mining earned him and his team a feature on the Discovery+ show Gold Rush: Mine Rescue with Freddy & Juan, airing in October 2024.
