My boyfriend and I are first time homebuyers and have been working with Bernard Barbilla for a little over a year. Initially, we spoke with Bernard to get some advice on how to fix our credit to buy a home and then we would go back to him whenever we were ready to move forward with the home buying process. However, he went above and beyond and worked with us for a year and a half, running numbers and giving us all of our options. We eventually got approved for more than needed and was able to start the process. I can imagine that buying a home in today's economy, inflation continuing to rise and more stress all around when it comes to finances makes people feel uneasy and unconfident about purchasing a home. This is especially true for first time home buyers like myself. It's definitely a big decision and step that you'll take in life. Sometimes you just need a little bit of help and the right guidance. Moreover I think people always have a certain stigma about home loan processors and lenders, that they're only out to push you and get that loan so they could make their commission. From a glance, I know this testimonial might seem long, BUT it's worth the read. I was introduced to Crystal from a good friend already in his real estate journey, and when I mentioned that I wanted to purchase my first home, his first instinct was to refer me to Crystal. He already knew that she was the best choice in choosing a loan officer and lender to work with. After a couple emails back and forth I decided it would be best if we could talk in person. I needed to sit face to face to see what kind of person she is and if felt comfortable if I chose to work with her. We met the following week over and I had plenty of questions as real estate, loans, purchasing my home and everything in between was all new territory to me. Well, I dished everything out that first meeting, even circling back to some just to reclarify. Crystal had an answer for everything, and not just the kind of arbitrary answer, but she explained everything front to back, in detail. And from our initial meeting she was able to relieve my qualms about the process as a whole. I felt comfortable with her approach and her education to me. I felt like I could trust her, which I'm sure to many of you is an important factor when deciding who we work with in life. I felt like she was someone I had known for a long time, but yet had only met her that day. Finally, I felt like I really really needed to stand up, because little did we both realize, our initial meeting, which I thought might take 30 minutes, ended up being 3 hours. Crystal was always helpful in her guidance, from coming up with the best strategy given my finances and credit, to laying out the roadmap of things I'd need to take care of as we stepped into the entire process. She went above and beyond in her service, taking calls or texts even after hours or on weekends. By now you should easily have a fairly clear picture about how professional and committed she is to her clients. Finally on the day of closing, when it was time to sign a giant stack of papers and move to cross that finish line, she was there too, just in case I had any more or questions or needed to further understand something. And here I sit, in my new home, writing about my experience should you choose to do as I did and work with her.
